This kit is used to characterize RNA extracted from human tissue samples for the in vitro detection of c-MET exon 14 hopping mutations.
c-MET exon 14 skip-read mutations are present in a variety of solid tumors, mainly in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with mutation rates of about 3% in lung adenocarcinoma, 2% in lung squamous cell carcinoma, and up to 22% in lung sarcoma-like carcinoma (PSC) in particular. Clinical studies have shown that the c-MET inhibitor class of drugs is highly effective in patients with the c-MET exon 14 skip-read mutation, whereas it is virtually ineffective in wild-type patients. Therefore, the detection of c-MET exon 14 skipping mutations is the premise and basis for guiding the use of c-MET inhibitors, and the detection of c-MET exon 14 skipping mutations by a highly sensitive assay is of great significance for improving the survival rate of lung cancer patients, prolonging the survival period, avoiding excessive chemotherapy, and improving the quality of life.
The clinical management of patients should be considered in conjunction with their symptoms/signs, medical history, other laboratory tests, treatment response and epidemiological information.
